Jackbox is a medium-sized game studio (~60 people) best known for the Jackbox Party Pack franchise: a set of five social party games released every fall. Since 2014, our games--like Quiplash, Drawful, and Trivia Murder Party-- have been featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, by a variety of media outlets from The Washington Post to Polygon, and in living rooms and finished basements across the world.
Over the last few years, we have had hundreds of millions of users. And we have hard evidence that one of those users was Academy Award-winner Charlize Theron.

What’s the Job?
Over the course of making 8 party packs, we have produced over 40 games. We are looking for a product designer to work on a new project that involves packaging up our entire catalog to better serve our customers. The ideal candidate is a generalist with skills spanning UI, UX, visual design along with a strong portfolio of successful technical design projects. Experience with front-end development for web based software applications is preferred. .
This will be a small, entrepreneurial team building out an entirely new product. While you will be working closely with the product owner and engineers, we need someone self-directed and comfortable being the first full-time product designer at Jackbox Games. (Sure, we have people who design games, but this product isn’t a game!)
For clarity, this is not a game design position.
You should...
- Have experience working in design and UX on a software project (mobile app, website, etc.)
- Be able to speak to specific contributions and impacts you made on projects.
- Have a great sense of visual design and be able to produce mockups and production-quality assets.
- Utilize UX best practices to design user experiences that are not only elegant, but simple, intuitive, and frictionless.
- Drive the design process from wireframes to final production while soliciting and integrating feedback from stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to bring a product to fruition.
- Have experience gathering feedback from a variety of sources such as usability/user testing, user journeys/personas, international standards, and content/style guides to hone and improve designs.
And it would be nice if you also have…
- HTML and CSS proficiency to visually represent designs as they will be displayed.
- Experience with Adobe XD or similar
- Familiarity with accessibility requirements and best practices
- A passion for games and an understanding of the game industry. Especially when it comes to how players interact with libraries of game titles.
